Camelot Moving and Storage: Our History

Now the leader in Santa Clarita moving and storage, family owned and operated Camelot Moving and Storage began in April 1986 in Newhall, California, in the Santa Clarita Valley. With one small moving truck, we offered a local moving service, while selling boxes and other packing supplies from the garage of our home. At first, we were household movers, but soon we were office movers handling commercial relocations as well.

Camelot continued to expand to meet the increasing demand. We added another truck with which we began to offer long distance moves to destinations as far as San Francisco. Then in 1990, after several requests, we grew to provide deliveries outside of California.

In 1994, the Northridge earthquake devastated many homes in the Santa Clarita Valley and the San Fernando Valley. While families rebuilt their homes, they needed a place to store their belongings. Once again, we met the need. Camelot Movers became Camelot Moving and Storage when we also began providing short-term and long-term local storage to our customers in our small warehouse.

Today, Camelot Moving and Storage serves the Santa Clarita and San Fernando Valleys as a local mover as well as Southern California and the West as a long distance mover. Camelot's fleet includes several moving trucks of various sizes, and we also offer short-term and long-term storage in our large, new, climate-controlled state-of-the-art facility in the Valencia Commerce Center. In 2006 year, we celebrated our 20th anniversary of excellent service in local moves and storage, and long distance moving.

Camelot's Most Unique Move
In 1991, a veterinarian whom Camelot had previously moved came to us with a special request: to move 5 white tigers and 2 ornery jaguars from Las Vegas to LAX, and then back again 10 days later.

Famed performers Siegfried and Roy needed transportation of props and animals from the Mirage Hotel to a jet waiting in Los Angeles for a special, one-time show in Germany.

After modifying a trailer just to move the animals, we picked up the priceless cargo in Las Vegas. Their entourage included security, trainers and a veterinarian, and we had an additional truck as a mechanical back-up.

Both the move to Los Angeles and the one back to Siegfried and Roy's retreat in Las Vegas went smoothly, and the animals were returned safely to their happy home.
