How to Pack Dishes and Kitchenware for a Move

Whether your dishes are a never used wedding gift or the perfect everyday flatware from IKEA, you want it to travel and arrive in perfect condition at your new home and here is how to do it!

1.       Start by setting the table space: use a clear, smooth surface.

2.       Choose the right materials, tape, box, paper.

3.       Tape the bottom of the box.

4.       Line the box with packing paper.

5.       Wrap each item in paper.

6.       Stack dishes vertically and pack them tightly.

7.       Wrap each item in one sheet of paper then repeat.

8.       Place padding on all sides.

9.       Add an extra layer of padding to protect the next set of items.

10.   Continue wrapping the remaining items.

11.   Place padding on all sides, including the top.

12.   Seal the box with tape.

13.   Label the box “FRAGILE” as well as its contents and location on 2 sides and the top.
